Into the Great New World: Pilgrims toward the Common Good

The Executive Director of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, the Rt Rev'd Professor Stephen Pickard, was the guest speaker at the recent Ramadan in the City Program held in Canberra on Friday June 1, 2018 at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Hall, Civic.

Professor Pickard's address was titled 'Into the Great New World: Pilgrims toward the Common Good' which can be read under the publications section of our website or downloaded in PDF format.

About 300 people attended this year's Ramadan in the City Program which is organised by the Canberra Islamic Centre operating the Monash Mosque, Islamic Society of Belconnen operating the Spence Mosque, Islamic Forum for Australian Muslims operating the Queanbeyan Mosque and Canberra Muslim Community Inc operating the Gungahlin Mosque.

The Islamic communities in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have been organising an Iftaar (Breaking Fast) in the City event during the holy month of Ramadan for the last few years. Iftaar in the City is a very popular event within the wider Canberra community; it is a free entry event and open to the public (Muslims and non-Muslims). This will be the fifth year in a row since its inception.
