Info about photo and video shoots

So, why should I help?
At Charles Sturt, we want to represent our diverse range of students across all study modes and campuses. The best way to do this is to capture images and videos with our students. Plus, you can surprise your parents with images that show what your days on campus look like.

What do I have to do?
Our photography style is candid and not posed. This means we might get you to chat with friends, play pool, grab something to eat or even complete a science experiment. You can relax, be yourself and tell some jokes while our friendly photographer captures some photos.

What if I can’t make it?
If you can no longer attend the shoot or need to change times, please let us know as soon as possible. We understand how tricky balancing study can be, and we’re happy to work with you.

Do I need to sign anything?
Yep! We’ll need a release form to double-check that you consent to your images being taken and used in our marketing materials. These may be as photos or videos.

Where are the images used?

The images get used across an array of print and digital outlets. This includes our guides, social media, website, billboards, digital advertising, and much, much more!

Will I have access to the photos?
Unfortunately, we're unable to share the images with participants directly. However, as your images are utilised across our marketing channels, you can save them or share them with your family and friends.

I have accessibility requirements. Can I still participate?
You sure can! Please let us know of any assistive technologies or access requirements.

What do I wear?
In short, wear what you usually do to classes or when hanging out with friends on campus.

  • You don’t need to worry about wearing anything too fancy. Keep it casual.
  • Try to wear clothes without logos. They look best in images and don’t go out of fashion.
  • Check your clothes are tidy and free from large stains or tears.
  • You’ll need to wear the appropriate PPE for laboratories, which might include enclosed shoes.
  • You can wear your hair and makeup as you usually do for class.
  • Watch out for old Charles Sturt logos! They are hiding on lab coats and older materials.
