Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture

Sacred Journeys Conference

06 Jun 2025 - by Liz Jakimow

Between 3-6 June 2025, the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture was the location for the 12th annual Sacred Journeys conference, looking at the transformative power of pilgrimage across cultures.

Session 1 on the first day included a presentation by CRES scholar, Dr Paul Oslington, on pilgrimage in Australia, including a planned pilgrimage from Goulburn to the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture. The symbol for that pilgrimage will be the mural wall at the Centre.

Later in the day, Corporate Services and Events Officer, Sarah Stitt, spoke to the participants about the Labyrinth at the Centre and the part pilgrimage played in its formation. A group of people from the conference took the opportunity during their break to walk around the Centre's Pilgrim Walk and meditatively walk the Labyrinth.
