We’re thrilled to continue our sponsorship of the Wagga Wagga Mardi Gras celebration!
Charles Sturt University is proud to confirm it will again be one of the major sponsors of the 2023 Wagga Wagga Mardi Gras Festival. Since its inaugural year in 2019, Charles Sturt has been proud to be part of this inclusive community event.
To express your interest in getting involved or to sign up for planning updates, please contact the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team at EDI@csu.edu.au.
This year, the University will have a float in the festival’s parade, which will begin at 5:00PM on Saturday 11 March 2023. The parade will travel through downtown Wagga, including Baylis Street and concludes with a free after party at Victory Memorial Gardens.
We are looking for staff and students who would like to be part of the float.
Let’s show Wagga how proud we are to be an inclusive university where people can bring their whole self to study, live and work!
We will join the Wagga community celebration with a Charles Sturt float and we’ve got 200 spaces available for students, alumni, staff, allies, supporters, friends and family.
Participants will be provided with a Charles Sturt Mardi Gras edition t-shirt, rainbow mortar board, paddles and temporary tattoos (available to pick up from 5-7pm Thursday 12 March at The Hub on Wagga Campus or from 3pm at the Bolton Park carpark on Saturday 14 March). You can also accessorise your outfit in your own way!
We are meeting at 3pm at the Bolton Park carpark. All participants will register at the information tent in the carpark. The parade commences at 5pm.
