Skilling the Future with IBM
In November 2021, Charles Sturt University signed a partnership with one of the most respected technology corporations in the world – IBM. The partnership will create a pipeline of skilled graduates experienced in the technologies of the future.
Highlights
Features of the partnership include:
- co-location on the Bathurst campus
- paid student internships
- teaching collaborations
- research partnerships
- thought leadership.
Student Internships
The internships – to be completed as a component of the student’s course – will be paid vocational work experience placements with IBM, giving our students the opportunity to apply the theory and skills gained during their studies in a professional workplace setting.
We’re also collaborating with IBM on some aspects of the academic curriculum, giving our students further opportunities to get equipped with the skills and knowledge that the workforce wants.
And as Australia’s #1 university for undergraduates who get jobs*, we know the impact that hands-on workplace, practical learning has on student success.
The courses
The paid internship program is open via application to students in their second or third year of study in our Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Computer Science, or Bachelor of Information Technology.
All courses take three years to complete when studied full-time (or part-time equivalent) and are delivered either online or through blended learning (which combines on-campus and online study).
This means that our students have the flexibility to fit study around work and personal commitments – without having to forgo any of the usual support that they experience at Charles Sturt. As Australia’s most experienced online university⁺, we know that students can rely on us to support them on their journey with confidence.
